Artist books and experimentation

A collection of some artist books and experimentations I did during my MA in illustration at the University for the Creative Arts in Farnham (UK)

“9” is an artist book containing 9 stories from different people, dealing with one common topic: depression. Each story represents a different point of view on the mental illness and the titles of the topics are hidden behind the illustration strips. The technique digital color printed on watercolour paper with a flagbook binding. (2018)

“What the hell is going on in my head right now?” is an artist book that was part of an exercise where only a maximum of 12 words where allowed to be used. Everything is done from scratch: from the packaging of the book done in Adobe Illustrator, the letters where assembled in letterpress and then scanned, the covers done in lasercut and the illustration behind was scanned watercolour screenprinted on a textured paper with the instructions of the medicine. “The willow” is a lasercut sculpture whose purpose is to resemble the feeling of loneliness and grief through the visual form of the dead tree. The layers of the tree were created in Adobe Illustrator and then coloured with watercolours, in order to be assembled afterwards. (2018)
